Rick Ray has been involved in stock footage since 1989 when he founded the brick and mortar company “Wish You Were Here” in Burbank, California. Evolving with the times, DVarchive.com was founded in 2001 to provide stock footage clips as royalty-free digital downloads. DVarchive’s library includes content supplied by Rick and dozens of other shooters with collections that include Lifestyle, Sports, Wildlife, Time Lapse, High Concept, World Locations, NASA and more.
Recognizing consumer interest in archival material, RetroFootage.org was founded in 2014. Footage from DVarchive and RetroFootage have been used in feature films, commercials, television productions, music videos, and more. Portions of the footage holdings of DVarchive and Retrofootage are sold through select stock footage suppliers in the United States and around the world.
